This 6×6 foot mosaic tile floor is in BWorks’ new building on Menard Street in Soulard, Saint Louis. Check out BWorks at http://www.bworks.org/.
The tiny glass tiles are mounted on sections of flexible fibreglass cloth. I made the sections up here in Michigan, then drove them down to St. Louis to mortar and grout them in place. Bees are symbolic of BWorks’ mission and the design was a result of collaboration with Phoebe Love. Picture does not do it justice; the colors really pop.
