Eclipse 27 September 2015

fake eclipseDid you see it? We were out walking the dogs and the sky was completely clouded over. Sometime around 9:15 we spotted it through a lucky break in the clouds — the moon was about 1/2 eclipsed. We went to a better viewing spot and the sky, unexpectedly, went from heavy clouds to clear in less than 15 minutes and them we saw the whole thing.

Apparently, when the moon is completely covered, it is called ‘totality.’

Nope. The only glimpse we had of the moon was about 8:50 and I couldn’t discern any shadow at all. Went out every 15-20 minutes to see if the clouds would break and they never did.
